METHOD OF THE RESEARCH

.     Type of The Research

This research is a classroom action research. Mills (2006:6) explains action research is a systemic inquiry conducted by teacher researcher, principal, school counselor, or other stakeholder in the teaching/learning environment. To gather information about the ways that their particular school operate how they teach, and how well the student learn. It will attempt to improve the quality of education, particularly in improving student’s writing skill by using comics at the second year of SMPN 3 Lunang Silaut In Pesisir Selatan Regency.

B.      Participant, Subject and Location.

The participant of the research are the students of second year at SMPN 3 Lunang Silaut. In research, the researcher will work together with an English teacher of SMPN 3 Lunang Silaut as the collaborator.

C.      Instrumentation.

The researcher is the key instrument in this research. She will get involved in every step of the each cycle in the classroom for collecting data. She will use a test, observation, filed note and questioner along process of making diagnoses of the problem in the classroom. Because this research is pre-planned; that is, there are plans prepared before conducting a research,
